Where families need support

Families need a starting point and help following through.

A family wants to keep or manage an inherited home but does not know what information to gather.
Relatives hold different pieces of the family history, and intake takes more than one conversation.
Limited staff time and repeated intake make it difficult to prepare a useful referral.

The goal

A clearer handoff from your organization to legal help.

  • Help families gather what they know and return to complete missing information.
  • Organize documents and family relationships so the next professional has a stronger starting point.
  • Build an intake process around your staff capacity, legal partners, and the families you serve.

Common questions

For community partners.

Does a family need all its documents to begin?

No. Intake can start with the information the family has. Staff and legal partners can use the gaps identified to plan what needs to be gathered next.

Does the platform provide legal representation?

Heir Apparent supplies technology and research support. Legal advice and representation come from the attorneys or legal-service organizations involved in the family’s matter.

Can we start with a small pilot?

We can explore whether a focused pilot is appropriate for the tools currently available and your team’s capacity. Scope, access, training, legal review, and any fees are agreed before a pilot begins.
